Why it is collected

Provision of name and contact information permits the operator to assure other registered members that there are no anonymous persons browsing the forum and other private areas of the website.

Other information helps the operator understand members' needs and provide a better service, improve products and services, which may include customising this website. Members may preiodically receive promotional emails about offers or other information which the operator thinks may be interesting to registered members, using the registered  email address.

Security

The data is held in a database on a system that is professionally managed and maintained with physical, electronic and managerial procedures in place to safeguard and secure it.

Disclosure

Your information will not be sold, distributed or leased to third parties unless required by law to do so. It maybe used to send you promotional information about third parties which we think you may find interesting if you tell us that you wish this to happen.

Username and information about preferences and interests will be visible to other registered members.

Registered members may themselves disclose their real name & contact details to other registered members during the use of the forum and private messaging system:-

• If the member chooses to put this information into a forum post or other content, it is beyond the operator's control and by disclosing such information the member accepts responsibility for the disclosure.
• If one member sends a private message to another, the sender's email address will be disclosed to the recipient.

Registered members inevitably disclose their opinions to members of the public when making a comment on an article. Their username and associated avatarwill be visible to the public.

Registered members are responsible for any such diclosures even where it is done through the website.
